Presentación del viaje
Partimos de Roncesvalles llenos de ilusión y con un paisaje espectacular entre bosques de robles y hayas, disfrutando como niños de la bajada del Erro. En Pamplona nos aprovisionamos para encarar el Alto del Perdón y después de la bajada hasta Puente la Reina.
Las siguientes etapas nos llevan hasta: Logroño, pasando entre otros pueblos por Viana, y estando durante todo el día a más de 30 grados !!!!
Olmos de Atapuerca. Tras pasar por Nájera, Santo Domingo de la Calzada-donde nuestro amigo Gabi deja unos cuantos kilos de equipaje-, Grañón, Redecilla del Camino, Viloria, etc, llegamos a Olmos de Atapuerca tras pasar por San Juan de Ortega (nuestro destino, en principio) y Atapuerca.
Frómista. Pasamos por Burgos dónde Gabi está a punto de abandonar por un dolor fuerte en la rodilla. Recuperado milagrosamente nos tomamos dos cervezas heladas en Boadilla del Camino. En esta etapa tenemos la sorpresa del viaje: cenamos con la prima de Gabi en Villalcázar de Sirga un espectacular “lechón churro”.
Mansilla de las Mulas. Pasamos por Carrión de los Condes y El burgo Ranero. Hoy el terreno ha sido muy cómodo.
A partir de aquí pasamos por León y llegamos hasta Astorga, donde nos reunimos con otros peregrinos para cenar y compartir nuestras aventuras.
Llevamos ya seis días de viaje y nos quedan poco más de 250 kms, que en poco más de dos días cumplimentaremos. Poco antes de Villafranca del Bierzo, en Cacabelos Antonio llega a pinchar hasta seis veces seguidas: desesperante !!!
Llegamos a Galicia, así que sabemos que la aventura está a punto de terminar……… Nosotros seguimos disfrutando. Llega la temida subida de O`Cebreiro, con muchísimo frio; tanto que nos metemos en un bar con chimenea a desentumecernos. Después de pasar por Triacastela y hacer noche nos fuimos en dirección a Melide donde pasaríamos la última noche antes de llegar a Santiago y donde damos buena cuenta del popular pulpo a la gallega. Ya sólo nos quedan unos 50 kms. Para el último día dejamos ese último paseo disfrutando de las últimas pedaladas del Camino de Santiago.
Ésta ha sido la primera piedra. Veremos el año que viene hacia que tierra nos dirigimos.
