Presentación del Viaje
Este viaje lo realizamos en Noviembre de 2009, cuando terminaba la época de lluvias en Centro América, pero que todavía nos llovió bastantes días del viaje.
Antes del viaje me había comunicado con un bombero de Costa Rica mediante un foro de ciclismo al que igual que a mí le gustaba el tema de los gps. Me envió algunas rutas y el resto las confeccioné con la ayuda de mapas y del Google Earth. Después de dormir un par de noches en casa de un amigo nuestro Amura, nos dirigimos al Volcán Irazú para descender por caminos hasta llegar a Guápiles a casa de otro amigo El Doctor Gilbert Castro en la que también hicimos una ruta llamada El Mono Chimado con él y con Javier Vega. El Doctor nos acompañó al parque de Tortuguero y estuvimos un par de noches en su casa.
Luego nos trasladamos a la Fortuna, para seguir pedaleando por los alrededores del Volcán y el Lago Arenal. La ruta del lago fue espectacular, pues nos cogió la noche y estuvo bastante tiempo lloviendo. Al siguiente día nos dirigimos a Monteverde para hacer Canopy y terminamos en Tilarán. Después de hacer la ruta de los Molinos, bañarnos en termas y pedalear junto al Volcán Rincón de la Vieja llegamos hasta Liberia.
De Liberia seguimos la ruta por la costa del Pacífico visitando a nuestro amigo El Bombero y familia. Fuimos pedaleando por toda la costa, bañándonos en bonitas playas y al llegar a Tamarindos terminamos nuestras pedaleadas por tierras ticas. Con un vehículo todo terreno terminamos de recorrer la costa y nos dirigimos a Alajuela para reencontrarnos con Amura. Antes de partir para España visitamos el Volcán Poas e hicimos un rafting en un río.
